  1. hi

joined 3 svcd files together and out putted them in mpeg 2 using temp encoder(mpeg tools), loaded them into tmpg authorising went through the diffrent stages menu, chapters, etc. whet to output the contents to a file and a dialogue box came up with(480*576 can not be used for a standard dvd. use one of the standard dvd resolutions). any idea's is there a setting i8n tmpg encoder to sort this out before authorising or is it some were in the authorising program?

    many thanks

If you click on the What Is DVD option to your left you can see a list of all of the DVD compliant resolutions. Since your sources do not comply, you must re-encode them to compliant resolutions before authoring.

Look in the guide section of this site for SVCD->DVD conversions. There should be quite a few covering this process.

There is also a program called SVCD2DVD which will automate everything, but I believe you have to pay for the software. Check the tools section if you are interested and you can post questions about it here:

If your dvd player plays svcd you could author the dvd using a dvd authoring program like gui for dvdauthor that allows svcd resolutions. The only downside is future compatibility with other dvd players.
