    When I try to play certain DivX discs it tells me that the resolution is not supported. Are there only a select few supported resolutions that DivX Ultra Certified players can play, or is it just mine (Philips)?

    I don't think so. What resolutions doesn't work for you? DivX DVD players doesn't support any HD resolutions(over ~720x576).
