  1. When I convert my VOB files which i recorded with a Sony DCR-DVD200 with Virtualdub MPEG to a DV avi with either the Panasonic DV codec or the Mainconcept DV codec the image becomes terribly shaky. When I open the original vob files this problem doesn't exists.

I'm not sure if this is allowed but I uploaded two example shots here: They're both 13,7 MB and I think quite the same so you only need to look at one:

    http://lanx.nl/temp/JJS/mainconcept.avi

these are two other threads about the whole problem. When I used the methods I explained there the shaky problem also occurs, except this is the "quick way" to the same problem.

Field order? Have you tried swapping the fields in Virtualdub, or better still, try the "Reverse Field Dominance filter" at http://neuron2.net/reverse/reverse.html

I occasionally come across this problem when I convert my set-top DVDRs to AVI. I'd thought that deinterlacing helped me, but I'll try this method too.

    Thanks.
