  1. I'm expieriencing some troubles regarding the Medion TV tuner 7134 MK2/3 (Based on a Philips chipset; newest drivers installed and newest updates WinXP SP2). I've been trying to record videos (from my Sony HI8 Handycam) with VideoDub, using the MEDION (7134) WDM Virtual Capture source (on the TV card) and the composite connection on the front of the pc.
However, I'm only able to record in 320 x 240; if I try to record in a higher resolution (i.e., PAL), videodub says that is hasn't recorded anyting. I've also been trying to record TV programs using DScaler and Cyberlink Powercinema, and when I press record the resolutions changes to a very low/bad one and the image starts to stammer (about 1 frame per second ). What am I doing wrong PLEASE HELP ME

    My system:
Win XP SP2 with all available updates
    Amd 64 3000+
1024 MB DDR RAM (2 module)
MSI VIA K8T800, DDR single channel
    MSI Geforce FX5700 8x AGP, 256MB DDR-RAM, TV-out, Videoin(intern)
    160GB 7200 rpm Seagate Baracuda ST3160021A

BTW, if you know better programs, please tell me which!

You may want to think about using btwincap drivers. I used them once, and never looked back. Hope this helps!

  3. I have just tried the BtSpy to detect the chipset settings... But it seems that I don't have a Bt8xx chipset:

    BtSpy Initialization
Cannot access the Bt8xx registers... Aborting!

    Here my VirtualDub error messege:

    VurtualDub capture error
Make sure that your capturing card is functioning correctly and that a valid video source is connected. You might also try turning off overlay, reducing the image size, or reducing the image depth to 24 or 16-bit.

    So c'mon guys, I'm desperate

Virtualdub use a wrapper to work with wdm drivers... So, issues pop up (when you don't know the theory behind all this and you don't know how to set up the program)

So, I suggest you to try virtualvcr for capturing.
