  1. Hello all,

I have a few qucik questions...

How would I go about putting VCDS onto a DVD. Is there a way to do this without any conversion? If not, what software (freeware?) is avalible to convert VCD to DVD format.

    Thanks for all your help,
    ccg.

  3. Total freeware, eh? Okay, I'm thinking dvdauthor and DVDauthorGUI, they'll take mpeg1 streams okay. You have to use elementary streams, unless later versions can take an MPEG1 directly. (?) Sooo, demux in TMPGEnc or bbmpeg. Run the audio through ffmpegGUI to make it compliant, convert to ac3 while you're at it. Then drop your video and your (fixed) audio separately into DVDauthorGUI. Enter chapter points as desired. Want more than one on your DVD? Of course you do. Just add another title.

Good luck. That's just off the top of my head. There are guides over there <-- for this, but whether there's an all freeware version, I dunno.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

Why convert it to ac3? Can't you just leave it as mp2?

  5. yes you can leave it alone. its just a slight chance that a few dvd players might not be able to play mp2 but i haven't heard of any....

  7. AC3 for maximum DVD compatibility. I always use BeSweet to transcode my audio from WAV to AC3. Never had a problem. PLus "AC3" just sounds cooler than anything else to me, but this is more or less humor and realistically trivial. I'm done being technical.
