I have a Pacific Digital 4X DVD burner (apparently a rebadged Optorite DD0201) that won't burn faster than 2.4X Windows Device Manager recognizes it as Generic DVD Dual 4XMax, but the latest versions of Nero Burning ROM and DVD Shrink both only display two burn speed options: 1X and 2.4X This is when I'm burning a DVD+R, not a DVD+RW. I've installed the latest firmware (2.6) but that hasn't made a difference.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix the problem? I'm stumped. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

first thing, try a different make of media. It is possible that your current media is not supported in the drive's firmware.
Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.
