  1. I just tried with "Collateral" (that i got for xmas) and it did capture an image with a huge blue/green line down the middle. This is some sort of copy protection. I remember a while back the Boston Globe gave free pictures of the Redsox in each sunday issue. If you tried to scan these pictures in you would see long green and blue lines all across the image, much like this. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? I haven't tried reducing the dpi on my scanner yet to see if i can avoid this...

  2. Scanner might have a dead pixel, have you tried scanning anything else since?

  3. yes i have scanned many cd's photos, it is not a dead pixel but rather a copy protection scheme built into the artwork itself.
