I have to listen to it for 8 hours straight overnight at Home Depot. It gets a little annoying because the same songs are played over and over again.

When I was a kid they only started with the decorations and Christmas songs after Thanksgiving.

    Then it became Halloween.

Now it's Labor Day. 90 degrees out and they're advertising Burl Ives' greatest Christmas songs

I'm waiting for them to begin right after St. Valentine's Day

My answer: they need to wait until it's closer to 12/25.

In stores - No earlier than 12/18.
    At home - 12/24 and 12/25 only!
Radio - No earlier than 12/11. Then, not more than one every few hours, gradually increasing to allow for all day on 12/24-25.

I like the Christmas season and I find the music charming.

But two weeks before Christmas should be the earliest, so yes, it is too early.

as for the music, now is fine.... a month ago, when one station went "all Christmas, all the time" for the season, that was too damn early.

    Bring it on!!

Have a holly jolly Christmas, it's the best time of the year..........

  25. For radio at least, it's not too big of a deal for me when they kick in the xmas tunes, being most stations don't play 24/7 xmas music.. The ones that do, for the most part, are not the ones I listen to even when they are playing their normal music programming.

Stores should not start til day after Thanksgiving, being that is the whole "first day of shopping"

As for being anti-xmas over all, it's the time line of the holiday that bothers me now.. Decorations up in stores before Halloween, then ads running with xmas theme in Nov.. Over kill on holiday everything all Dec with the crappy tv shows, ads for everything etc etc.. Then even when it's really over you STILL have xmas stuff all over the place for another month +. blah..

I'm not religious in any way shape or form, so I don't celebrate any holidays besides Thanks Giving, and the 4th of July.

It wouldn't bother me if I ever hear another Christmas song again. But I'd rather only hear them after the 2nd week of December. Too much is put on marketing for the holidays, it ends up having nothing to do with it's true meaning in the end.

They never realized what they were getting into, until someone released an unauthorized recording of it. As more and more of the masses experienced the horror, the answer became clear and loud: No Mas! No Mas!
