  1. hi all

i'm trying to convert a dvd to some vcd's
i ran easyvcd, followed the sefy guide
tried vcd and xvcd, with whatever standard options pretty much
what ever it let me do, that seemed right
it seemed to be going ok
but when it was running tmpeg
    it returned this message
d2v cannot open, or not support (something like that)
and it says bin/cue files are in the output dir

i looked in the directory where the files were meant to output to
and there were these .vob files that were like 1gb big and stuff

but when i clicked ok on the message dialog
those files disappeared, and there were no bin/cue files (there were never any)

using windows xp pro, p4 2.4GHz 768 mb ram, output device 80gb hdd, about 20% used

don't know if this is a cause, but my system partition is G:\ not c:\
programs are installed on G:\, even though i prefer them to be on a different partition

is there another way to do this?
something straightforward, as i don't want to do anything fancy
just want to convert my cousin's wedding dvd to vcd for a relative who can't view it

    thanks
    dave

That's definitely your issue right there.

I had the same problems when I set up a dual boot system and had G: as my OS drive. EazyVCD requires some files to be on C Drive, so if you can't arrange for a C Drive install for EasyVCD then you're SOL with that program unfortunately

I had win98 running off my C Drive, so I simply installed it on there and I could still run it without any issues whatsoever when in XP.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    No problem.

You don't need to change OS's, you just need to install to C Drive. Have you currently got a C Drive defined ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
