I'm new to capturing video on my computer...have previously always done it on a DVD recorder.
I just bought a new Dell Dimension 8400 3.2 ghz computer for video editing.
Is this video card enough for video editing? Should I upgrade and to what should I upgrade (where to buy too)....Thanks a bunch!!
128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon™ X300 SE
If you have more time to help me:
I have 1gb ram, 160gb hard drive (250 external) Is this also enough for video editing. What would you upgrade?
Thanks again.

looks like you have more than enough puter power. vid editing really doesnt depend on your GPU alot has to do with cpu. your setup is more than fine

You're okay for video, HDD wise but I would get an larger internal HDD either Serial ATA or Ultra ATA 133. I have 300GB for DVR. I use Radeon Video and Pinnacle PCTV Pro Stereo Audio/Video Capture Card. Oh yes make sure you have plenty of fans in your PC case. As you start to doing your recordings the Video / Capture cards do get hot even if they have their own fans.
Check your DELL and see if there is a case intake fan air in ---->
I know they have case out take fans <----- air out ----->
If you got space for two large 92mm fans buy them you'll need it!
