Maby a silly question to ask but never thought about it....

If I want to convert VHS to avi (then to mpeg2 DVD) to make a DVD how can I author it to autoplay? I mean using the known authoring progs I can make menus etc but what if I want to autoplay when inserted in the standalone DVD player w/o having to get into menus?

    Thank you in advance

TMPGENC DVD AUTHOR can do it. Has a no menu option.

The only catch here is chapters don't always work.
    Sonic software is like this.

  5. ok, then i suppose you could author it with a crappy menu and use DVD2ONE in movie only mode?????, silly suggestion that i'd never use but would definately work.

I'd use TMPGEnc DVD Author and either set the firstplay action to "play first track" (you can still have menus, it just plays the first track on insert) or author it with no menus (you can still put chapter points in), or use IFOEdit to author (you can put chapters in using a celltimes.txt file).
    If in doubt, Google it.
