Following on from my earlier post on setting up my Ronin sound

I have now bought a new amplifer/decoder that has DTS decoding as well as Dolby Digital.

Looking at the Ronin manual it says:

If you have another audio decoder which can decode Dolby Digital/dts, connect the optical jack of the DVD player to the audio decoder (such as amplifier) via optical cable.

Then set the SPDIF "on" on OSD. You can use the optical digital output to enjoy the original audio
.

It also shows the dts symbol on the front panel display icons as (optional).

The Ronin has a Coaxial Digital Ouput socket and Scart and video output as well as the normal 5.1 audio outputs.

The decoder, Acoustic Energy AEG05/P5 has a Digital Coaxial input which the manual shows as connected to a DVD player. There is also an Optical input but this is shown as connected to a laserdisc.

Nowhere is there mention of an optical cable on either.

My question is, does this mean I will get dts decoding when using an appropriate dts DVD?

What type of cable do I need to connect the Ronin Coaxial Digital Output to the decoder Digital Coaxial input? Although the connectors look standard phono type I assume the cable has to be proper coaxial to shield the different elements?

I also assume I will need to setup the Ronin sound again.
