I know this has probably been asked like, a bazillion times, but is there a simple way to capture still images from an MPEG-2 clip? I've already encoded them in SVCD format and I want to extract some stills for use in the cover packaging. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

Try WinDVD or PowerDVD screenshot capture.

I appreciate the responses, SHS & Baldrick. I'll give it a try.

  6. Just in case that doesn't work for you, here's another more roundabout way. Load the MPEG2 into DVD2AVI, save it as a project file. Then open it up in TMPGEnc, select the frame you want in the Source Range filter, and then use the "Output as file sequence" option from the File menu.
