  1. I am burning a wedding DVD on Prodisc DVD-Rs. The first test was using PCM audio, which skipped/popped like crazy. I then encoded to .ac3 (I tried with headac3he but got a "could not find data chunk" error, so I used ffmpeggui instead). This eliminated the audio problem when I played it on my DVD player (Toshiba 3690). I sent it home and the DVD worked on two other players but it still had the audio problem on a third player (I don't know which model right now, I will find out tomorrow).

Does anyone know what might be causing the problem? Is it simply too high of a bitrate for some players to handle (it's 7582kbps video + 192kbps audio)?

Oh, and I'm authoring with DVD-lab.

    Thanks,
    -Brandon

  2. My guess would be it is a player/media compatibility issue. Prodisc is not generally considered as top quality media and therefore can cause playback problems with some players and not others. I would suggest trying a different brand media. Read some of the posts in the media forum to see what is reccomended and what is not. For -R's Taiyo Yuden are considered by many to be the best, but others are well rated too.

Your bitrates are fine and well within DVD specs.
