    I noticed that there is one new firmaware Philips DVD player DVP642. Any one knows what is the improvement? From the feedback, seems nothing improved and even worse.

    I couldnt get some subs to play before the firmware upgrade,But then some of my xvids woulnt play.so i put the old firmware back...get this it still plays the subs and my old xvids...LOL..

    What type of sub file will it plays? Is idx/sub type or text sub file?
    I cannot get idx/sub file to work

    The one it wouldnt play for me was .srt. but after i did that..everything works great..
