Hi guys,

I'm a DVD-Rip enthusiast who is trying to make a backup of all his favorite DVDs to VCDs. For the past week or so, I have been using DVD2AVI and TMPEG to encode the Sleepy Hollow DVD to VCD format. I used the normal VCD NTSC template that came with TMPEG and set the motion search to highest (very slow). Overall the result was quite good with the exception of some really apparent noise blocks in certain scenes (such as in the forest where the leaves start to fall).

Now I understand that it is possible to "tweak" or alter the settings in TMPEG so that a better quality video maybe obtained. Is there anyone out there who can help share with me the ideal setting for VCD encoding in TMPEG so as to obtain a better quality than the one I already have?

Note: I use a VCD player at home so XVCD and SVCD are out of the question. I'm just thinking of tweaking the current NTSC FIlm VCD default template in TMPEG so as to get a really good result. So to all the experts out there, care to share what settings you use to make a really good quality yet compliant VCD? Any posts and feedback will be much appreciated.

Happy Holidays
And warmest regards to all
