I have captured interlaced DV footage with bottom field first order. TMPGenc detects the source correctly as BFF. After encoding using the standard PAL DVD template, the output file has top field first order. Is this OK? At the moment I don't have access to a standalone DVD player, so I can't check if the output plays fine on a standard TV.
thanks in advance,
keith

$55 for a DVD player in Sydney, guess you can get one for the same price in Melbourne.
Field order us usually top field first. DV is the other way around.
The fact that your source field order is different to your target field order is illrevelent. -
Hi keithsebastian,
I've encoded many a time from DV AVI to DVD MPEG2 using exactly the same setup as you and never had any problems, so I'm guessing you should be OK.
By the way, where are you in Melbourne? There's not too many of us on this site that are in Oz (even though I'm a Pommie...). A select few...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
