The great wealth of information you have provided sums it up very well.

The problem is clearly between the chair and the computer.

Jumping can often be caused by crappy media - be it the brand, or a one-off bad disc.

The solution is an " Indolikaa Special"

Unfortunately I hear that is a dish hard to come by these days.

I honestly see nothing posted yet in this thread to indicate what the problem could be let alone "crappy discs".

Hell for all we know he can't get it to play right on the computer let alone burn it.

Yes I see what you mean.

    LOL.

If you re-read the original post, how about: "Clean the jam sandwich out of the VCR's tape guides"?

@ TsunamiOfDeath - Sorry, it's the end of the week...

I guess what we should be saying is "Provide more info:

What is the video on (disc / tape / PC file)?
What format is it (AVI (what type) / (S)VCD / DVD (home made or commercial) / VHS)?

    etc.

It's common for downloaded material to be corrupted - that's the most likely cause.

The problem could be inherent in your process...

OK for real here is what you do ...

    Download GSPOT

That will give you the details we need.

Cut and paste the info here in a post.

    - John "FulciLives" Coleman

    P.S.
Do this with the original file not the MPEG file you created.

I mean, if you read your question do you honestly think that that's enough info for people to even start to have a clue what's wrong? Unless we're sitting there on the couch with you how are we supposed to know anything?

What is the target of the file? A comliant DVD or SVCD or VCD, etc.

Do you want NTSC or PAL (the file is NTSC).

Will you be using TMPGEnc Plus or the newer EXPRESS version or something else like Mainconcepts MPEG Encoder or Cinema Craft Encoder etc.

That's not attitude, it's just some good ol' friendly banter. Hang around long enough and you'll see that this crowd have got a tough sense of humour and you'll need to be pretty thick skinned.

Unless it's really deserved, it's all in jest...

  23. ALWAYS convert MP3 to WAV first when using TMPGEnc.

I too had to check if this was in off topic when I first read it

Back to the problem at hand, I'll bet daamon's house and capmaster's wife on the MP3 audio being the problem here. Extract the audio to a WAV file, and before you ask, read this. You'll be amazed how many problems have already been fixed in the forums here.
    If in doubt, Google it.
