how do i unstall codec's?

i tryed control panel then remove (windows Xp), but there are codecs that arent in there. how can i unstall them, because i think some codec are messing up my converting. can that happen? like for some reason at the end of the converted movie the voices go off? is that because of to many codecs installed?

You can also use "Sounds and Audio Devices" from Control Panel. Click on Hardware -> Video (or Audio) Codecs -> Properties -> Properties. You'll see a list of video (or audio) codecs that you can "Remove".

i just used codec sniper and i saw some of the codecs are broken, should i delete them? and is that the problem?

would it be smart to unstall all the audio codecs there, then start over for scratch? audio is the problem not video

I don't think you want to remove all the codecs from there. Many of them came with Windows -- reinstalling them might not be easy, you may have to reinstall Windows. Remove the ones you know are causing problems. Who knows if you need Voxware Compression Toolkit or IMA ADPCM Audio CODEC?

I don't have the Sipro Lab Telecom codec. I do have all the rest (I think they all came with Windows) and a few more. If you disable them you can always reenable them later.

What kind of problem are you having?
