  1. I have a movie which is 8 gigs, if i use dvd shrink to make it fit on a 4.7 disc, will the quailty loss be noticable at all?

    It may be noticable, but if you're not in a rush, use deep analysis and select either sharpest video or smoothest video in the options field, this should give you the best results. It may take close to 45 minutes, but may be the route to take.

  3. Depends on what system you view the backup. "Tube" TVs will be much more forgiving, while DLPs, Plasmas, Projection TVs, & Projector systems will be much more discriminating.

    Your setup is close to mine, so it will take closer to an hour and a half to complete the job. You can change the compression ratio for the extras and menu, and eliminte non-essential languages to increase the room available for the main movie.
