  1. I ripped an unencrypted DVD using DVDShrink. I chose the option "Create video in 1GB chunks." I am trying to author it with Nero, but when I open the VOB file, only about 7 or 8 seconds gets imported. Furthermore, the first and second VOB files are accepted, but the third and fourth are not. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

The DVD files are already compliant so I don't understand why you are trying to author the ripped files

Upgrade to an OS that doesn't require you to split files up into smaller chunks?

  5. Splitting it into chunks isn't required, but is highly recommended by the DVDShrink program.

  6. The 1 GB video files play fine using Nero Smartstart. I just can't get them to open right with Nerovision Express. anyone have any ideas?

    Here's what you do.

Run NERO. Not Nerovision Express, just Nero.

Pick "Video DVD" from the wizard.

Now drag all those VOB files to the VIDEO_TS folder and let go.

    Now hit "burn".

    There, wasn't that easy?

  8. Hey Gurm,

Did you actually read the thread? I'm assuming you didn't. Perhaps you've had too many Sam Adams today (the world's worst beer.) Probably you're just a loser and need to be rude to make yourself feel better. Whatever.

I want to edit the video and put in chapters, not just burn it. Does anyone else have any suggestions to help me out? Thanks.

Ok look - I've never actually imported VOB files directly into Nerovision Express.

The closest I've come is taking an entire DVD structure, and telling Nerovision to open the entire thing. Not the VOBs, the entire structure.

Then it opened just fine. But I have NO idea what would happen if you tried to just open up a bunch of VOBs. I have a pretty good idea that it might get all munged up.

But the reason I was saying to burn it with CopyToDVD was to make sure that the DVD structure itself is ok. There's no point in fiddling if the reason Nero won't load it is that it's broken!
