Lately, while trying to backup some of my DVDs, I have been getting an error from both DVD Shrink and Nero itself. In Nero when I try to burn the folder or an image that I made I get an error that basically tells me that the Disc is illegal then tells my me what burner its on, and that it cant preform Disc-at-once. I have always used DVD-Rs to burn with and I have enver had any problems, recently though I ran out and picked up a another thing of -Rs from another ocmpany, and this is when this problems started up. So I had a spare DVD+R around and tried it and it worked perfectly, I picked up another thing of -Rs from another company and it is doing the same thing. Im not sure if this would really matter, but its something that I have noticed. With DVD Shrink I just get this big mess of an error, so i try it in Nero and it works sometimes, other times it doesnt.

My Nero is a little out of date, but im really not sure that would cause this problems cause its worked fine before, and I have tried other burning software. Is it the media I am using? Or could nero be way out of date? Im going to update it here shortly and try, but figured it throw this out there.

THanks for any information and help

Nero can be a pain. Try ImgBurn instead. It's free and more reliable. You do not mention disc media. Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are the best quality -Rs.

Nero being out of date is not as important as DVDShrink being out of date.
If you are backing up new, factory pressed, Hollywood copy-protected DVD's....DVDShrink
has not been updated for a VERY long time.
It's time to switch to a current ripper/decrypter like DVDFabDecrypter.

Assuming the discs you bought weren't garbage they just may be too new for your burner. Check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

And yes DVDshrink is old. Besides the programmer works for Nero now or at least he did some work for them and stopped working on shrink.

    iownju,

The only way to be sure what the problem is, and how to correct it, would be to check a burn log from a failed burn. If you'll post one, it will make it much easier to get you back to trouble free burning.
