Help: What is the BEST audio ripper out there?

I seem to have problems ripping audio than when I did it about 1 to 2 years ago. Now that all these anime AVI's are done with new codecs and such. Virtualdub now gives me problems as it always says that it does not have this or that codec. So is there an audio ripper out there that can just rip any AVI audio to WAV with any codec such as XVID and etc?

If there is a filter for Virtualdub that I can use that would be cool too.
