  1. I don't think this is possible but I thought I would ask.

Does anyone make a hardware convert from DVI to Component, S-Video or composite?

  2. ATI at http://www.ati.com/products/hdtvadapter/index.html sells an adaptor to convert DVI to component video for its RADEON and ALL-IN-WONDER multimedia cards. I don't know whether the adaptor is generic for any DVI output.

I just got one of those ATI DVI>Component adapters and it works great. Says it will only work with an ATI or ATI chipset card. If you go to the ATI site, they have a listing of compatible cards. I have a Sapphire ATI 9520 chipset card that can use it. Large improvement over a SVHS connection. There is also a VGA to component adapter that is similar, but then you wouldn't have a monitor connection.
