Tmpgenc plus crash after raising directshow filter priority.

Hi, I installed tmpgenc on a friend computer and when I raise the directshow filter priority in environmental settings (to bring it to top or even modified it to priority 3 or 4) and try to open a film to convert, tmpgenc crash with an error message: tmpgenc.exe generated an error and will be closed by windows. If I dont raise the directshow priority all work fine but I lose sound on the converted video (I have sound at first then in middle of film sound disapear), and most of tmpgenc problem are solved by raising the directshow priority, I tried with 3 different movie and always crash at opening of the file if i raise the directshow priority, I can play both file correctly with mediaplayer classic, and no problem, the sound is good all along. Any suggestion on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like tmpgenc is having problems with the audio portion of the file. you may want to convert the video and audio separately.

make sure the audio is not vbr. tmpgenc does not handle vbr very well.
