  1. I have a very large AVI file that I am trying to burn to DVD, however when I try to burn it says it is to large for a 4.7GB disk. How can I size it down ( without losing quality) to fit a 4.7 GB disk???? I know of dvd shrink, however I believe that is just shrinking a DVD format movie......

    Please help ...... Thanks

You might try opening it in Virtualdub, then frameserve to TMPGENC. In TMPGENC you can choose the bitrate and other things to make it fit a DVD.

It depends on if you want to keep in AVI format, or re-encode it to MPEG format.

If you wish to keep it in AVI format, use virtualdub to re-encode to to a lower bitrate. You may have to reduce the frame size in order to retain decent levels of quality, but only you can decide if this is necessary.

If you wish to re-encode to MPEG, try the guide here.
    If in doubt, Google it.
