  1. Major .... I have four VOB files that were processed into four MPEG2 files using identical settings in ffmpegX [v0.0.9o]. All four MPEGs play perfect in MPlayer. I want to join the four files into one and author them into a DVD. I can join any two original files, but I cannot join a joined file with any other file. ffmpegX signals Done immediately and I get a new joined file with zero size. File names [and disk/directory names] are all alphanumeric with no spaces or special characters at all.

How can I turn four MPEGs into one MPEG????

  2. major .... well, it seems I found the answer to my problem myself. It appears the Join Tool requires that the first file always be a non-joined file. If I have file1, file2 & file3: I can join file1 & file2 to produce file12. But if I try to join file12 with file 3, the process fails as described in my first post. But if I reverse the order: I can join file2 & file3 to produce file23, then I can join file1 & file23 to successfully produce file123. You might want to add this gotcha to the tools doc page. Would this seem to solve a lot of join problems you've seen???
