  1. Okay folks, I've got a few things I've downloaded. Now, I need to know an effective method to encode them so that they'll work on my RCA lyra AV jukebox(yes, I know it sucks.Yes, I know they haven't upgraded the program for it since april. Yes, I have no money to buy something better.). it says that they're mpeg4-asp, and that B frames are dectected. I've got no idea what that means, but I can tell you that it makes it not work. So what should I use to make it function properly? Or do you have a VERY cheap alternative suggestion?

I just had a look on google and it plays MPEG-4 and MPEG-1 video. I don't know what that error that you are getting means, but I would be fairly confident that you might need to re-encode the video. TMPGEnc Free can encode to MPEG-1 for you, while VIrtualDub is just about the pick of the free DivX/XVid/3ivx encoders.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. I already tried them both: didn't work. Any other suggestions, or an explanation as to why I got a weird error about something called "DX5" when I tried to use pocketdivxencoder to get the job done?

You need to find out what codecs it can use, and what specs the files need to be. Do you have the user's manual ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
