since starting with dvd's
i have only ripped and burnt as vob files
starting to get a few that freeze in some parts of movies
is there a difference between using vob files as opposed to making

thanks

philquad,
Not that I know of. I have used both methods (I use ImgTool for my burns both the Classic and the Burn variants) but lately only VOB because it saves time.
If your DVD-Rs started to freeze lately it may be related to media and/or DVD player problems.
Play the DVD-R on your PC. Does it freeze? If not maybe your DVD player is more picky than your PC DVD drive so you may need to use only the best media.
If it behaves the same on your PC then try to see the (already shrunk) film on your PC from a folder on your HD. If it does NOT freeze at all then it's even more likely to be your choice of media. Buy a small number of best DVD-Rs to try them out and see if there is any improvement.
Hope this helps.It wasn't me.
