A friend of mine just upgraded his camcorder to a mini dv, he gave his old one. Now i've been using this camera for some time, my only problem is camera shake. Is there any filters for virtualdub or a standalone app (freeware would be nice) that will fix or soften camera shake. -garman

The deshaker filter is a bit trick to setup, but delivers good results. Be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Thanks for the tidbit of info. I'll give it a whirl very soon. Now that you mentioned the compexity of the filter, what about the processing times. I have a PIII 800Mhz with 512 of ram. Will this be sufficient or do I need to upgrade. -garman

they all work about the same - more or less .. lot of factors and setup ..

there are some high end tracking apps that do do a better a job (like in fusion)

Tri-pod. You will look like a geek when you are shooting and they can be a hassel but there is nothing better.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

    I hate them all.

I've never gotten good results, not unless I pick apart the video scene by scene. Pain in the butt ... but it works.

BJ_M probably is used to scene by scene, but not me.

You've got to tweak to death too, otherwise it does some really flukey stuff.
