OK,has BR even suggested this?If not, where is all of this shit coming from? I think we should have a vote to keep or not discuss this.

Hello,
Dr Gee- I don't know where it started. I just thought if we had a petition started we might keep it from becoming an issue at all.

This poll is yoda's. It isn't the result of any "suggestions" made by BR or a mod.
If you have an issue with the poll, discuss it with yoda

Go to any messageboard and the "off topic" section always has the most posts in it. That should tell you something about it's popularity.

Pleeeeeease keep it open!
I discovered this forum in October 2003. Since then it has educated me about any aspect of DVD backup/editing/authoring I have ever wanted to know and use. The tools I found enabled me to actually apply what I have learned.
Of course all this info did not come from the OT forum.
BUT I have been entertained more by this forum than all the comedies I have seen this year. This is not an exaggeration. Some may think that I am somewhat defective and easily amused but at least every couple of days I burst out laughing at some post or series of posts.
Though it may not amuse my employer it amuses me.
Oh, and some of the best posts in the other forums have come (and hopefully will still come) from people that regularly post in the OT forums. What if these people loose the will to live (as their videohelp.com alter ego) and don't post again in the "serious" forums because the OT is not here? That would be a loss.
I'm very new here and with very few posts so maybe I should not interfere in issues such as this but this is my opinion for what it’s worth.
Oh, and as long as the current OT forums rules are not breached why impose more? I like it the way it is.
Apologies for the long post.It wasn't me. -

Good post cor1 -
I think it's all up to Mr. B. If he wants to close it, he will. If he doesn't, he wont. Plain and simple. My preference is to keep it open, but I am not the one to decide/maintain/moderate it.
I do know I would spend FAR LESS time on vcdhelp/videohelp if it were to be closed. I'm also sure I would get more work done at work and at home too -

I vote for all the whining threads about everything that's wrong with the forum to stop - those outweigh any other problems here and clutter up the place far more
Nothing here has gotten that out of hand - the subjects make it look worse than it is, but if you've actually read the threads you'd see the humor there and nothing going too far.
There are far many more threads that deal with subjects that aren't offensive - but those threads don't keep getting bumped (and it seems the ones complaing are usually involved in those controversal threads)
If you have a problem with a subject...move on to another.
Why do so many people feel the need to read everything or react to everything posted?
The mods know what needs locked and when things have gone too far - they'll take care of any problems here.
Suggesting the whole forum be locked indicates that the mods can't do their job.
Seems that post counts increase the size of egos...and that's really the problem here.
Everyone thinks they should be the chosen one for mod status.
It's all just childish jealousy - hissy fits are uncalled for.
Get over it already :P
What's stopping anyone from creating their own board - you can set one up for free...and can make your own rules there.
Only one person here can say if the board goes or not - and he isn't the one complaining about it. -
Hello,
Rookie64 - I'm not complaining. I just want a tally of yes and no's.
Hey Capmaster, or other mod, can you post a total number of ALL Off Topic posts since it's creation? Maybe that would shed some light on usage.

I'm sure Baldrick can get that info if he needs it. But if he has to start checking, he may find that this forum is nothing but a bandwidth hog.
That said, only have one more thing to say...

it should be open only to registered users - as to not scare away prospective new site members thinking you are all a bunch of sadomasochistic sexual weirdo male perverts ... even if you all are ...
I'm serous though about the "only open to registered users""Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -

I bet Baldrick is pissing his ******* pants this topic has received so much airtime.
I'm sure he's bigger things to worry about.
W.tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
Where else would I get picture like this:
You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning.
/ Moderator BJ_M you were warned already about posting offensive pictures all over this board -- lets clean it up please
thanks
