  1. I just went through the steps of a guide for converting the audio of my VCD files into 48000Hz to allow it to be burned to DVD for play on standalone DVD players. Unfortunately, I can't use TMPEG to multiplex the new audio file with the video so I'm hoping there is a tool for this or that someone can tell me what to do. The message I keep getting is "Illegal MPEG audiostream which I guess means the new 48000Hz isn't being accepted by TMPEG since it is a DVD, not VCD stream. Unfortunately, the guide didn't provide this info. Thanks.

  2. I don't know if this will work, but I use this tool in preferance to TMPGEnc to mux AC3 with my MPEGs:

It may allow you to mux 48kHz streams with MPEG-1.

Otherwise, is it not possible to simply drop VCD-spec files (including 44.1kHz audio) into TMPGEnc DVD Author and it will accept them? It may be worth a shot.

    Best of luck,

  3. Cobra,
Thanks for the reply. The first tool only seems to accept the m2v files of SVCD, not VCD and I'd rather not pay $70 for the TMPEG tool. Any other suggestions?

  5. John,
I don't have the TMPEG DVD Author so I can't try it. Like I said, $70 is not something I want to spend if there is a free way of doing it.

  6. Just noticed that there is a 30 day trial period of this software. Are there any limitations on the final product? If I hurry, I could do my whole collection easily.
