Just bought a Yamada DVX6600 from a loacl maplins here in UK, tryed playing my movies that are burnt on Ritek G04's DVD-R, it whirrs away and then complains that there is no recognised disc ?

Problem is they play in my Acoustic Solutions DVd player fine ...... stranger still .....

The one disc it attempted to play skipped so badly it is totally unwatchable, yet the same disc plays fine again on my Acoustic Solutions DVD player

Even stranger, I did a DivX DVD with 6 movies on it ages ago for when I bough a Yamada player and they all play, and they are burnt on a single Ritek G04 DVD-R ???

Is this just a duff player ??

Any help appreciated, if its duff it goes back tommorow or Monday for a swap

If swapping it won't cure it again, dunno, I'll go buy another brand divx player, but reading all the reviews, annd the fact that a mate bought a previous Yamada model and said it plays anything made me buy it

See what you mean about the toy CD tray though, very fragile

Will try upgrading the firmware to the latest, see what happens, and try another brand of media I have laying around, but it will definatly go back it won't play Riteks, thats what I use

They did try giving me a box that had been opened and resealed, so I insisted I got one that hadn't been opened, this one was sealed, no sign of previous entry, everying boxed perfect inside

Many thanks for any replys why it won't play Ritel, duff player of just bad luck ....

Burnt a movie using Ritek G04, but at x2, this plays perfectly, but thats no good to me, as all the stuff I've done at x4 won't play

So, its going back today with one very unhappy customer, and swapping it for the Tangent D400 they also sell at Maplins

I'm using the latest version of Nero 6.3.1.20, plenty have complained this give problems, but mine turn out okay, can Nero have anything to do with this problem

I don't mind using other burning software, but would prefer Nero. If Nero's causing the problems, even though they are all burnt using the DVD-Video template then Ahead will be getting email from a fed up customer
