I recently upgraded to Nero 5.5.5.1 and got the MPEG-2/SVCD Encoder to burn SVCD from AVI and MPEG files. I had no trouble burning the CDs and the video quality is noticebly better than VCD. The problem is with the audio on AVI files. When I make the SVCD from the AVI, the audio stops completely after about 20-30 seconds of play. And the rest of the video has no sound after that. The same thing occurs in VCD format. I don't have this problem with MPEG files however, just AVI. But the video resolution is better using AVI so that's my preference if I can make the sound work.

By the way, the AVI files play fine on my computer using WMplayer and there is no loss of audio, so I know the movie is ok before the MPEG-2 encoding.

I have had no other problems using Nero burning software; everything works great except for the VCD audio problems. And there are no indications of any system or performance problems, or problems with the original audio/video capture and moving making process. During the burn I have ensured that no other programs are running in the background, so there shouldn't be any resource issues. Is this a known bug? Does anybody have any suggestions?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
