  1. Hi,

I am a newbie at converting divx file to dvd mpeg. I followed the guide on this site by Afonic to set at

    1. Video Type: Interlace
    2. Field Order: Bottom field First
    3. Aspect Ration: 1:1

At the bitrate, I set the % to use up as much of tehe 4.7 GB dvdr.

When I used TMPGEnc DVD author to convert the mpeg to VOB, I noticed that the video quality was not a clear as the divx.

    Can anyone give some guidance,

    Thanks,

    Rage

    Hello,
You could try a different guide here:
    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=DivX+to+DVD&...or+List+Guides

These are divx to dvd guides.

You should set the bitrate for the dvd as close to the original divx bitrate as possible. Going higher will not improve it.

    comicrage,
When you say"video quality was not as clear"
I take it to mean, not as sharp.
    It`s a pretty common occurrence with divx/xvids.
Frame serving with filters, (I use Avisynth) to clean and sharpen your vids, is one way to get it to where you want, there are a few methods out there, most have something of a learning curve to them.

Read all you can in the guides here, and also at
Doom9 (another very informative site by the way)
