I'm looking for some websites to shop for computer parts, accessories, etc in the US only. I've used newegg, meritline, and shop4tech?(for dvd cases). I was wondering what other sites you guys use for your computer needs. Thanx

www.ebuyer.com - their UK branch is quite good.

I haven't used them myself, but a lot of people here seem to swear by Newegg.com.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
newegg.com is my preferred vendor for everything. However, I also use the following and highly recommend them as a satisfied customer...
pcimicro.com
starmicro.net
cyberguys.com -
SVC.com has really low prices on fans, lighting, small parts, cables and other stuff. Shipping is weird so try out different options to get the best price. I have used them 5-6 times and no trouble. They are slow to answer email and a lot of stuff is out of stock.
For important things no question....NEWEGG.COM. I had a memory stick set that was 1 year old and I didn't find the problem until I ordered another matching set. It took me 3 days to figure out what was going on and I called them to see what I should do. I was so sick of memory problems I was ready to junk it all and start over. They replaced it in a week.
They are the best.Still a few bugs in the system... -
Newegg.com rocks!
I just started using them to purchase computer components. Don't ever use MWAVE.COM because they sell defective items and pass them off as brand new.

I agree with Chas0039...I have ordered many times from SVC and gotten my stuff fast and accurately. I only use SVC for cables and case fans though....everything else is Newegg.com all the way. They are by far the best e-tailer of computer parts. I have built 5-6 complete systems using them and nothing has ever gone awry.
If you're cheap like me, go to www.fatwallet.com and go to the hot deals board. You can find some great sales, coupons and other strategies to get computer parts for 30-50% off retail...Example - I never pay more than $.50 per GB when buying a HD. Most of the time I can get it even cheaper...
BTW, I have read some really bad stuff about Tiger Direct and have stayed away from them b/c of it. If others have had good results, that's great, I'm not bashing you, just passing along info I have read. -
I do quite a bit of business with Monarch Computers. I bought my RAM and several SCSI devices from them. I haven't had the need to contact their customer service as the few (albeit expensive) orders I've placed with them have gone smoothly. Sometimes you have to wait for backordered items like I did with a large RAM order (4x 512MB sticks of Mushkin PC3200 222) but I saved probably $100 on that order buying from them.
I also recommend FrozenCPU and Sidewinder Computers for cooling supplies and case mods. Both have excellent customer service.
As for NewEgg, I tithe about 10% of my annual income to them and will always come back as long as their service remains the same. Great prices and some of the best customer service I've had from any online store (as good as Amazon).
I will never go back to PC Whorehouse ever again. After cancelling an order I had with them on a system board because I could get it direct from the manufacturer right away (instead of waiting a month) and for about $100 less they kept the auth on my credit card for weeks after basically holding that money from me. I had to call my credit card company and have them remove it. I called PC Whorehouse three times regarding this during that time and they had no idea what I was talking about. -

I've already reported them to their local Better Business Bureau. They had numerous complaints of defective items and crediting customers correctly. I've asked that they refund me the shipping cost to send the MFER back to them. Of course on all the other returns they paid it but this last one they refused because I said I would not do business with them ever again & will report them to the BBB. The complaint is still in progress and I've yet to see whether or not they will refund the shipping cost and credit my charge card for that mobo combo I sent back. If I'm not credited back for the mobo combo I'll have to take it up with my charge card company. Don't ever purchase anything from MWAVE.COM.
I checked the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU in the home state for NEWEGG.COM. They have good clean record compared to MWAVE.COM

Ive used Tigerdirect for my computer parts, and I have never had a problem with them. Shipments came in a timely matter also; in fact, their warehouse is located in Naperville, IL which I been to before so ground shipments to MI only takes about a day. In fact, most of components I bought to build my desktop system back in Feb. Prices werent that bad either.
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -
