I tried 4 discs from a spindle of 25 Datasafe x4 +R in my dvdr75 recorder and each failed after a couple of seconds.
Perhaps this could be sorted out by a firmware upgrade, but I have noticed that on the discs the inner perimeter of dye is partially ragged rather than being circular as on other discs. It looks as if the dye has not been spread completely.
Is this normal or is it a defect? They are supposed to be Ritek grade a discs but don't really look the part.
It's important as the shop doesn't accept returns unless they are faulty. I expect a load of waffle even if there is something wrong with them so I'll need to seem to know as if I know what I am talking about.
If anyone can help I'd be grateful.

The "ragged edges" does sound like dye issues but four discs in a row failing immedietely is unusual even for crappy media. Has other media been more successful? Maybe a firmware upgrade would be helpful for compatability with this media. Try burning at a slower speed and see if results improve. Is your DMA enabled?

Hello 888888
I was using them in a dvd recorder.
In the end I went back to the shop and exchanged them for some other discs. I didn't want to take the chance of more Datasafes in case they are incompatible with my current firmware (I don't want to change just yet).
Apart from cheap mirror +R discs I havealso had problems with Samsung +Rs.
