  1. I tried the demo and put two movies with bin files and created a menu. I followed the template on the svcd2dvd website. Everything looks ok except first movie is missing last 1 or two minutes.. Already burned these bins onto regular cdr discs so I know the ending is missing. On second movie it looks like the whole movie is there.. And I do not see the 30 second clip at the end.. am I suppost to see that? I do hear a few sound pops but I read here that the full version has better audio tools. Really like this software. But I am not ready to purchase if it is going to cut out the endings. Any ideas?

Overall very impressed. No audo sync issues and video seems to be as good as the original SVCD.

Er... The demo "tries" to truncate the mpgs in order to add the 30 clip. Sometime that is not possible. The trucation is optimal in most case but it seems that too much has happened for you. No trucation happens in the full version. Also, you are right about the sound options in the FULL version - if you have issue then in most case there are other options.

Hope this helps. If you go for it and you are still not satified then email me citing this thread & I will sort it out for you.

  3. Thank you for the quick reply. I just manually ripped the bin files with vcdgear to mpegs and the ending checks out on it. I am trying again to see if somehow the bin-ripping process with svcd2dvd may have been the issue. I think for sure I am going to try this software. So far it seems pretty amazing. Definately will use the 2pass audio encoder.. too many bleeps. But I really like the idea of this program no transcoding the video like alot of softwares do.. and it takes days and generally does not work.

  4. Well I donated and received the full version of svcd2dvd. In the options, I chose to have vcdgear repair any corruption in the bin file, and I also unchecked the sound option to improve audio. I made a dvd with two movies with menues and chapters every ten minutes. The only complaint I have is that the conversion took 25 minutes longer which is not a big deal considering the magic that this program performs. The finished disc turned out perfect. I am impressed. I tried other apps from the big software companies like nero, roxio, pinnacle etc.. and they all failed miserably in comparison to svcd2dvd. I am thinking that the reason the demo messed up is that I am doing all this on a windows 98se box? I may never know since I used the vcdgear option to rip the bins on the first try with the full version. But I never did see the 30 second clip with the demo.

The question I have now is this software better when used with windows 2k or XP? I am thinking of upgrading OS's. I am leaning towards W2K Pro. Maybe I could use the default ripper options that are faster if I used a different OS? At anyrate, It is working good with 98se. Thanks for the great product ChrissyBoy. I don't know if you are the coder, but whoever is coding this app is sharp to say the least.

I would also like to add that I author my dvd's with stomp recordnow software. I have found in the past, that some dvd players are not compatible with dvd's authored with Nero. With Recordnow, I just drop the video_ ts and audio_ ts folders into a data burn and have had great success. So for those that have compatibility issues, I suggest using the stomp recordnow burning software.
