  1. Hello,

I hope this is the right place to post this. I searched beforehand and couldn't find any similar posts.

I have some svcd files on my hard drive that I made with Tmpgenc. I can process these files just fine with DVDlab and created a DVD without problem.

But when I try to open files on that were burned on an actual CD, DVDlab says it can't open the mpg. This happens with VCD and SVCD. I think I burned all of them with Nero. (It's been awhile since I made these)

So I use the ISOBuster method to copy the mpg to my hard drive. DVDlab still won't open them and demux and do the audio transcode.

What am I missing or doing wrong? If I happened to use a nonstandard bitrate on the SVCD's could that be screwing up DVDlab? I don't think I did though when I made them with Tmpgenc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Ok, also weird is that Tmpgenc can't even open the svcd mpg's after I use Isobuster. I was merely going to use Tmpgenc to reauthor to DVD.

I can use mpeg tools to DeMux and then load the two files in DVD lab which then transcodes the audio. But I've had problems with audiosync using this method.

I made the stinking svcd's with Tmpgenc and have mpeg2 codec in Tmpgenc. Just weird that it won't open them all of a sudden.

    Any ideas?

  3. Well, I downloaded some updated codecs and now Tmpgenc will process the Isobuster - svcd files.

Howver dvdlab demux's the file and says it can't demux, the video file is encrypted.

DVDlab says I should just be able to browse to the mpg on the svcd and process it from there without Isobuster. But still no luck.

    Maybe getting closer -----

  4. Well, this stuff is really screwy!!!

Tmpgenc won't open the mpg's anymore.

I can still demux them in the mpeg tools though though not 100% of the time. Sometimes Simple Demux won't work - really weird.

DVDlab dumuxed 1 out of 4 svcds Isobustered from cd's to files.

Seen posts on other forums about this but no solutions.

    Oh well.
