I have some videos in Divx format in my hardware and cannot read this format with my dvd player. Therefore i would like to transfer them to MPEG4 (?) and then create a dvd but would like to avoid TMPGenc and then Nero because the process is too long (7-8 hours!!!). Do you know if it is possible to perform the entire process ( divx to MPEG4 and then burn) through another program? I have Nero 6.3 and easy cd and dvd creator and it seems that they are faster than TMPGenc but I am not able to use them.
In summary I am looking for a way to convert and burn faster than TMPGenc and then Nero, possibly maintaining the overall quality.
Thanks in advance for your technical help.....
Fabio

to be dvd compliant you have to encode your file to mpeg1 or mpeg2, with 48000 audio. mainconcept has a free trial encoder that is faster than tmpgenc, but, it leaves a watermark on the finished file. as for burning software, nero really doesn't have much to do with the burning speed, the burning speed is dictated by the speed of your dvd burner and the media.

You might also check out TheFilmMachine. It works good for DIVX to DVD. Freeware, easy to use.
