    Hello im not new to the dvd scene but have come across a problem which has to be honest totaly got me baffled i burnt dvdr of jurassk park3 the problem is there is no sound in the main movie ( but if i play it in my pc and not my home dvd player the sound works ok ) all the other sounds work for the extras etc on both my home dvd player and the pc
    i used dvd shrink 3.1 to rip and nero 6 to burn
    any ideas or suggestions would be gr8

    ps sorry if i posted in the wrong part of the forum was not sure if it needed to be in the sound part ( but i though that was more to do with converting )

  2. Hmm.. I think JP III comes with both DTS and DD. As DTS will
    play back on many software based DVD PC players, it won't
    play on your home setup unless either your set top player
    or surround receiver decodes it.

    Could you have deleted the DD main movie track and kept the DTS one?

  3. even though your dvd player may decode dts, it may not downsample to stereo like ac3 6channel if it goes straight to your tv.

    it was a downloaded so i did not rip it myself so i can and can not say etc
