To give more quality to the video, I tried to convert the LPCM track to AC3. It works great. The "new" dvd plays fine on my computer.
But there is a small problems. The chapter points seems to be altered. It's a dvd with music videos the when I choose a chapter it starts in the middle of the song except for the first track. It seems that the chapters pointers don't use time or frames to set the starting point.
So what do I need to change in ifo edit to make the chapters start at the right place ??
Here is all the steps I do:
1. I rip the full DVD to my HD.
2. I rip only the main movie (the one I which to convert to AC3) by making a big vob file.
3. I demuxed the m2v and wave file from the vob
4. I encoded the wav to AC3
5. I remultiplex the m2v and ac3 with IfoEdit 096
6. I replace the original vobs by the new vobs generated by ifo edit
7. I test for playback

IFOEDIT has a known bug in it. IT can save chapter stops as a txt file but it does not properly save the timing of the stops. Try Rejig5E,it has a DVDauthor option, looks like IFOEDIT's,and does corrctly save chapter timing. Both programs actully save cell times not chapter. Chapters somtimes contain more than one cell.
