    Ok. I bought a capture card and it works when i plug my cable tv directly into the capture card but if i run a cable from the vcr to the capture card it wont show. i think it has something to do with the s-video or something like that..any ideas i would appreciate it. thanks

    Does your capture card have a setup screen where you can select the input source?

    Did you try switching your vcr to TV?
    y'know, the little tv/vcr switch thingy?

    You need to select what input your using in your capture card configuration. cable/s-video/composite Cable works because that is probably the default.
