I have an Panasonic EX-3 camera with Firewire connection. When i connect it to my machine (XP Home edition) i only hear a beep when the HW is found but i canīt se it at "my computer". I have tried it on another machine also with XP Home. When i had Windows 98ME on the second machine it was working just fine.
The only thing i see in MovieMaker och other program is my card to intervideo Home Theater and no FireWire device.
Any suggestions ?

You may want to make sure the camera has DV Out selected. Some cameras do it as a default, but others have to be coaxed.
Hello. -
Yes, its always DV-out because this camera doesnīt handle DV-in.

That fix wasn't on my computer anywhere and I update every time the little icon pops up. I guess they want you to search for that one. Hell I haven't even hooked up my DV camera to my computer yet(my father in law has it)...imagine if I hadn't seen this thread...I would have been BITCHING up a storm.
Sometimes I really question what goes on in the mind of Microsoft. I love XP but damn they piss me off sometimes.
