  1. Hi guys,

been a while since I posted,

anyway I have a small clip (of my workplace) on DVD that I want to duplicate for some work buddies.

Since it is only 13 minutes I didnt want to go to the expense of making DVDs for them ( i need to make about 10 copies), so I ripped it with IMTOO tool to a mpeg1 file & copied it to CD.
Plays OK on my PC but wont play on my E30 DVD player. Is that correct since my DVD player says it will play VCDs (& isnt a VCD an mpeg file??) or am I wrong here.
Some of these guys have DVD players as well as PC & macs.

Is there a fromat (apart from DVD) that will play on :

    a. Their PCs & macs as well as
    b. There home DVD players.

Or am I a bit optimistic here.............

    cheers

just a mpeg file is not a vcd. you must author and burn it as a vcd, click on AUTHOR here to the left and click on VCD.

and a VCD will play on computers and most dvd players.

A VCD is an MPEG1 file surrounded by some formatting stuff.
There are a number of VCD and SVCD authoring tools around.
Try VCD easy. There are restrictions to the MPEG1 however.
Your's may not be compliant. See WhatIs on the left
