  1. Hi,

I got a problem with converting audio from avi clips.
I have 1 divx file and one xvid file.
They both have MPEG1 Layer 3 audio (says GSpot)
I use TMPGenc Plus and/or TMPGenc DVD Source Creator to convert my stuff to a dvd format so that Maestro understands'm.
But both programs do not extract the audio.
Well they think they are, but in the end the file contains nothing but pure silence.

Now I don't have a clue of where to start searching for why this is happening.. stripping the audio from the video with virtualdub and compressing that to some usable format with TMPGenc Plus seems to work in some cases, but not all...

Can somebody help me out here?

I convert my avi audio to wav with Goldwave, it will convert most audio formats.

  3. Ok load up your avi file in virtualdubmod (it's what I use, but vdub will probably be the same).

    Go to "Streams"
    Then to "Streams list"
Right click the stream, select "full processing mode"
    Right click again, select "compression"
    Select "No compression (PSM)"
    Click "Save WAV"
    Then save as wav file
Use this wav file as audio source in Tmpgenc

I hope this works for you, there is probably an easier way, I just don't know it.

edit-Sorry, didn't read the part where you already tried this.
    Blah, blah, blah
