  1. Hello, i am trying to put AVI's onto a dvd. Everything seems fine until i put it into any stand alone dvd player.

Whilst watching the film it gives me the impression that it is missing frames every second or so.

Other than that the quality is very good.

I have tried both Nero and Tmpgenc to convert and Nero to burn.

    Any ideas please

    Thanks

    Paul

  4. Did you author the DVD or did you simply burn the MPG?
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

    1. check the source video with gspot, note the framerate(fps)
    2. convert to pal if 25fps, convert to ntsc if 23,976 or 29,976.
    3. your dvd player must of course support the format you are converting to, if you must do any framerate conversion click on CONVERT here to the left.

  7. I have watched the film on my pc and it plays absolutely fine, so i don't think it is a framerate issue.
I believe it is in the converting/burning stage where it gets a bit messed up.

    Thx

The PC playes everything in contradiction to a standalone DVDplayer, so it might well be a framerate issue anyway.

  11. Just had a look at my films and they are all 23.976 frames per second. Should they be 25 FPS ???

I am in the uk using PAL

23.976fps is progressive NTSC. You can convert to 25fps is you like, but may be able to play it the way it is. My understanding is that a lot of machines over there will handle NTSC as well as PAL. Somebody wiser than myself will surely correct me on this if I'm mistaken though

Here's a guide for converting your progressive source...
