    i have recently downloaded a couple of clips tha say they are xvid. they play fine in windows media player. how ever if i try to open them in virtualdub and save uncompressed i get about the first 50 or so frames then it goes black/blank the same happens if i open in tmpgenc plus. i have divx 5.0.5 and xvid codec installed. any ideas?

    Have you checked for bad frames ?
