  1. what is kvcd and how do i make it is it better then svcd or vcd? also what is cvd and xsvcd, what are they and how do you make them, are they better then svcd and vcd. Do any of these formats take up more or less space then svcd or vcd, do any of these have a really good picture?

    Read the glossary
    XSVCD = SVCD (MPEG2) with altered settings, CVD is better.
    CVD = 352x480 SVCD (best one here), easy to transfer to DVD later on
    KVCD = deinterlaced noncompliant XVCD (www.kvcd.net), low quality

    KVCDs can be deinterlaced, if the target is MPEG-2.
    They can be "high quality", if you follow the correct procedures and methods.
    "Non-compliant", yes, I'll grant you that. But some people don't care about "compliant" MPEG files, and they care about other benefits.

    A VCD is not "high" quality, KVCD, XVCD or otherwise. Everyone has standards but VCD is the bottom of the scale.
