  1. Hey all, so I've burned my DVD and when I play the files on my computer, all the pic is there. When I play on a TV, the left and right sides are slightly cut. I'm sure this has to do with how the vid is captured (resolution), but is there any way I can correct this by converting it somehow? Thanks for the help!

well, im no expert, but it may just that a large amount of tvs, cut a tiny bit off of the sides, while computers have the ability to not cut off anything. try it in other tvs, and see if what is cut off is exactly the same as where you originally played it

  3. All TVs overscan 5-10%. It hides slight flaws with image geometry that are inherent when you build a large CRT picture tube.

That said, you only notice cutoff on the left and right? You say you look at the files on the computer and they are fine; are you playing the DVD on the computer or the source files? You could have made an error somehow authouring the DVD and chopped off the sides if it appears the same way when you play the DVD on your computer.

If this is not the case, and the DVD looks fine on the computer, perhaps your TV is poorly adjusted and overscanning far too much on the left and right side.
